When looking at this photo again, just wondering about the fashion... I have 3 sets of climbing boots, 3 sets of crampons, but not a single high heel shoes. All those pretty russian girls in Moscow with their high heels...
OK, THIS PHOTO DOES NOT REALLY DESERVE THE PHOTO OF THE DAY PER MY OPINION.
PLEASE VOTE ON SOME OTHER PHOTOS FROM MY RUSSIA TR - I THINK THAT SOME OF THE CAUCASUS RANGE PICTURES LOOK SO GOOD. OR READ THE TRIP REPORT - THAT WILL MAKE ME HAPPY...

Hasn't voted | Ok, Erico... you forgiven to vote on such a photo... I discussed this with so many people... if there would be a man sitting on the top, it would get as many votes... | | Posted Aug 5, 2010 11:17 am |

Hasn't voted | there's a head on each man, good looking or plain ugly, but in each head a couple of eyes to look.
and if lucky some guy will see you some day, out there in the open.
who cares about shoes, clothes outdoors, other than to use them ?
sorry dear, I'm merried, 62, bold, living in Croatia and no, I am not blind.

| Wolfgang Schaub | Elbrus | |
Hasn't voted | Could not believe my eyes: This is Elbrus? When I was there in 1993 they didn't have yet the plaque on commemorating the "Great War".
Do you know, Liba, that you are actually sitting on top of a weathered statue of Karl Marx? I was told it was Karl Marx in the past, and I even saw a picture once, of how it looked like in the 50's. Now, since so many people have hacked on it with their ice-axes, to get a piece of our greatest philosopher ... now it's only good enough for sitting on and being happy.
Congratulations that you made it! | | Posted Dec 16, 2010 7:24 am |

Hasn't voted | WOW! I had no clue that I was sitting on the top of Karl Marx :)
Surprised they did not bring Lenin up there, but then Lenin is still pretty big in Russia.
Thanks.... | | Posted Dec 16, 2010 10:35 am |

Hasn't voted | Thanks Chad. Elbrus would be a fun trip (except the visa issues, but you are used to stuff like that....) | | Posted Dec 19, 2012 12:30 am |

Voted 10/10 | Actually I'm not. Every place I go amazingly doesn't require one for US citizens or has visa on arrival for a minimal extra fee (except for when my work used to handle it for places like Saudi Arabia). I've put off a trip to Vietnam for just that reason.
I guess that's it then... Vietnam 2013... Russia 2014. | | Posted Dec 19, 2012 12:50 am |
