The route up Peak E leaves...
The route up Peak E leaves the Piney River trail and heads up a gully below Peak E. If you would like to do the Ripsaw Ridge, continue on over to F and G along the ridge. For the route down, locate an obvious gully between F and G and descend down a very loose and nasty boulder and scree field. Before reaching the Piney River you will have to bushwack through some trees before intersecting the trail.

Is there any reason why you didn't ascend past the waterfall into the tarn-filled basin below Peak C and start your traverse with Peak D?

I knew it was going to be a long day and I wanted to climb E, F, and G so I skipped D to give me more time. D is the least impressive peak on the ridge and that is another reason why I skipped it.

Some others on July 31 did the entire ridge from C to H in one day. I probably should have continued on to H (I think is called Black Benchmark on the USGS map) but I wasn't sure what the traverse over to H would be like and I was getting tired. Apparently the downclimb off H would have been a lot easier than what I did.

Peak H is actually the next bump on the ridge southeast of Black Benchmark.
