The Spider from the slopes of Peak G. Some mountain to the left of The Spider is flipping me off. August 14, 2004.

It's possible Point 12,370 is to the left of the spire that's flipping you off. We saw this nasty looking thing from the summit. It's actually in Ellen's Photo but it blends in with the background so well you can't discern it. Summit shots of us look the same way. You can't tell what we're standing on! Anyway, that pinnacle is among the most nasty things I've seen anywhere, although I'm sure it's typically solid Gore and may offer a good technical challenge.

BTW-The CMC route says the best way to climb the Spider is up what would be just beneath the left skyline of the Spider in this photo, on "wide ledges." Having had a look at Theron's daringsupposed Class 3 route, I would be inclined to agree with the CMC for me personally.
