From our tent at camp 2 on Aconcagua (19,200 ft.) we look out onto Ameghino in the clouds. To climb this peak we would have to descend to Ameghino col and the up to the summit at 5,860 m. Most of us who have lugged up our gear to this point haven’t the energy or inclination for this day trip. Those who do, reap the reward of a great view. William Marler January 1998.
