Zoom of the precipitous... [ Sizes: Orig | Med | Small | Thumb ]
Zoom of the precipitous...
Zoom of the precipitous Pigeon Peak and Turret Peak from the summit of Snowdon Peak. The standard route on Pigeon comes straight down off of the summit (class 3) and then curves right below and to the other side of the ridge in the foreground. An alternate route if you are not doing Turret climbs straight up the ridge from treeline from the far right of the photo on up the ridge to the summit. You would use the same Ruby Lake trail and make your cut up to the summit just before the Ruby Lake Trail turns right and heads East. September 5, 2004.

Thanks. Snowdon is one of the if not the best view in Colorado. The Needles and Grenadiers are spectacular from Snowdon.

Nice one Barry. I've been researching a Pigeon/Turret/Monitor/Animas/13/Twin Thumbs trip.

You can probably find a trip report on 14erWorld. Someone did all of those last year plus some of the technical Turret Needles.
