Andrews Lake (the trailhead)... [ Sizes: Orig | Med | Small | Thumb ]
Andrews Lake (the trailhead)...
Andrews Lake (the trailhead) and the route up to the Northeast Ridge. The bushwacking starts at the first large meadow. Cross the meadow and when it terminates, bushwack through the forest to the right of the stream that comes down from the upper forest. You cannot follow too closely to the stream because it is a small box canyon. Once you are at the second meadow follow the stream on either side (left is probably better) up into the basin below the couloir that leads you to the Northeast Ridge. You will have to negotiate a few small willows on the way up. Little Molas Lake can be seen here in the right portion of the photo with the Silverton West Group of the San Juans as the backdrop.
