Beautiful Andrews Lake is where you will start your climb of Snowdon. The peaks in the background are 13ers that overlook Silverton, Co. Too bad the water wasn't calm. September 5, 2004.

Voted 10/10 | Great pic. I climbed Rio Grande Pyramid on 9/8 and most of the snow on the San Juans was gone. Oh well, nice to look at but I didn’t really want to have to climb on it. It did look cool from the Crestones on Monday however. | | Posted Sep 12, 2004 12:07 am |

Hasn't voted | I would like to do Rio Grande Pyramid someday. Can you do it as a day hike?
Yea, the snow was melting fast. It probably all melted off the next day above 12,500 ft. It sure made it treacherous though. The bare rocks had water on them and the rest had wet snow. | | Posted Sep 12, 2004 10:03 pm |

Voted 10/10 | You can do the Pyramid in a long day hike. It's around a twenty mile round trip from the trailhead at Rio Grande Reservoir. If you also go to the Window (which both Aaron and I highly recommend) the mileage is around twenty-two miles. | | Posted Sep 12, 2004 10:26 pm |
