Here is a good view of the...
Here is a good view of the Southwest Ridge Route of Snowdon. The peak on the right is Pt. 13,041 and the peak on the left is Snowdon. The route takes you up to the saddle between these two peaks and then runs the ridge up to the summit. You can see the obvious notch above the saddle on Snowdon which is the crux of the climb and must be bypassed on the other side (east) of the ridge. Looks like an interesting notch on Pt. 13,041 too. I took this photo from highway 550 south of the turnoff to Andrews Lake. September 5, 2004.

So did you just walk through the forest from here and go for the saddle and then take a right?

No, this is down 550 a ways. I did have to bushwack through some forest but not this one.
