26-September-2004: Dana Couloir. Trip led by Sierra Mountain Center, as part of their Fall Ice Seminar. We came up to Dana Lake and camped. Four dots are visible on the couloir, two of which are SP'ers. We got an early start the next day, mostly using french or american technique and one tool, in cane position.

I was up there the same day showing a buddy the ropes (so to speak) on the lower Dana Glacier. I remember looking up at all the people in the couloir and being jealous of such a fine climbing day. We never went up the couloir b/c my buddy's first time. Oh well, next time.

I think I remember you - I and another guy was with a guide that day. One of you wore red scarpa thermo cerro torre boots, right ? I recall a discussion about Alaska, too. Anyway, check your email :)

OMG, that was us!?! I totally remember your group now as well. I had forgotten that we talked to a guided group on the lower glacier. My friend Nate had the red Cerro Torres.

Saw the e-mail. Haven't had a chance to respond. Work is killing me, as usual. I'll respond soon.

No worries ! Summer in the Cascades sounds like it's 1.5 - 2 months away this year, and Sierra alpine ice even longer.
