On the way to Mount Cannon, Oct. 14th, 2004. First time I've had a herd of mountain goats so close above me on a climb. There were seven of them and I surprised them - to my surprise! Problem was, in their attempt to move away, they dislodged some 30 pound rocks in my direction. Not much to do but get out of the way.
