On the way up to Lone Tree...

On the way up to Lone Tree Pass on May 13, 2000. All that jumbled snow is from avalanches. Crossing this basin to the pass can be extremely hazardous in deep, fresh snow conditions. The channels created by the avys made for nice toboggan run style glissading, though. We didn't make the summit due to hip-deep unconsolidated snow. It can be hit or miss like this on Whitehorse in spring.

Good shot and

that's the most people I've every seen on Whitehorse! I was up there a few years ago in late July and there was still over 6 feet of snow near the pass. Couldn't make the summit that time and what a workout.
