The view east from Kay Peak. Blue line is route to/from the southeast from the Thirtymile Trailhead (Chewuch River Trail). It took us about three hours to get to the car from Kay. It was easy walking through burned forest at first. But then the terrain steepened dropping down into the Chewuch River valley. A rough, abandoned trail in the last half-mile helped. Oct. 15, 2004.
