Honeymoon Basin [ Sizes: Orig | Med | Small | Thumb ]
Honeymoon Basin
According to a hunter I met, this basin on the north side of Cusick Mt. is called Honeymoon Basin. The Imnaha/Wallowa divide fills the upper right quarter of the page. The glacial West Fork Wallowa River valley is in the upper left. The points above that are the Hurwal Divide and Chief Joseph Mt. Note the small lake at left center. Oct. 2004

I think its probably possible, but I don't know first hand myself. Looking at that question from a distance and on a topo map, I suspect it would be difficult and require some involved route finding. I'd like to try someday, but for now I can't give any certainties. Sorry.

I think its possible to go over Hawkins Pass and up the west side of Cusick, then drop into Honeymoon Basin from the west. This also would take some route finding, but I think its probably a little easier. Sorry I don't have a definite answer.
