The slump camp on June 9,...
The slump camp on June 9, 2002, viewed from above. The trail up to Marmot Pass traverses this slope just below the nearest cluster of pines. It looks steep, but leveling a tent site was easy and the rivulet provided easy water access. From this camp (~5200'), the Buckhorn Mountain saddle (~6000) was only a (steep) hour away.
