On the way to Eagle Cap on...
On the way to Eagle Cap on the morning of August 19, 1998. This is Horseshoe Lake (7,133 ft) three miles NNE of Eagle Cap. Pt. 8920+ is above. This is the first lake you come to if coming out of the West Fork Willowa River valley from Six Mile Meadow. The next lake is Lee Lake. Then Douglas Lake. Then Moccasin Lake.

Infected MushroomNice place

Voted 10/10

Looks like a fun peak to bag; appears to be some decent scrambling to be had.

KlenkeNot actually a peak

Pt. 8920+ is not actually a peak. I think it is a highpoint of an outlier ridge of Craig Mountain (9204 ft) southeast of The Matterhorn. But you're right, there is a lot of nice scrambling in the Wallowas.
