| The south side of Pt. 9,180... | [ Sizes: Orig | Med | Small | Thumb ] | |||
The south side of Pt. 9,180 is a complex composition of four of the five major rock types in the Wallowas. The white is metamorphized limestone or marble; the grey is Martin Bridge limestone; the light brown is Hurwal Formation shale and the thin, dark upright structures are basalt dikes. I'm not a geologist, so if any are out there and need to correct me, please do. This shot looks down the east ridge of Cusick Mountain from it's summit. Oct. 2004. Comments |
