Skiumah Lake

The Skiumah Lake Trail #204 is a short 2.5 mile hike, gaining about 1100' in elevation enroute to a high mountain lake in NW Montana's Great Bear Wilderness. We've been hiking extensively in grizzly country for over 5 years now and have never seen anything like this before. The size and quantity of bear scat in such a small area, some of it semi-fresh, was just a little un-settling to say the least. One big bear? Several bears?

Why yes....I do have a fascination for Yogi and his stuff...the more I know about Yogi, the better (i.e. safer) I feel....regarding your neighbors...arm yourself. I know you're very capable... ;)

I told you so! There are a lot of bears up that drainage. Glad you made it out safely. Talk to me about the slow loading pages that Sarah is whining about. I can whine too ... my neighbor is not complaining.
