Thanks! Yes, the ice was well formed, if a bit wet at times.

We're both on belay! It's a smoke & mirrors trick of the camera angle that you can't see the rope very well. You can just see it above Ryo's left arm.

He is -- and Ryo let me borrow them for a climb or two. He seemed to like them and I liked them too. They were much lighter than any of the other tools I used (vipers, rages, & cobras) and more like an alpine tool, but I still liked using them on WI a lot. They also had a nice small grip, a nice bennie for those of us with small hands!

AMH says about them "these are the heat for female climbers", but they work well for me too. I am going to try using some head weights on them next time though, just to experiment.

Well, rope or not. For a Flatlander like me, it's scary to watch your photoes. I'm leaned back in my safe office chair - impressed.

Hi Jorgen,

Please don't be too impressed! There are many many others that are much more impressive than I. Thanks for your kind words.

You have great ice climbing photos! Thanks for posting. This stuff looks scary to me. Hopefully I'll be able to try it some day.

Thanks Kris! I think it's no scarier that climbing up Cathedral Peak in the howling wind when the sky looks like it's about to burst with freezing sleet and snow! ;^) How's everything going? What have you been up to lately?
