This unique 'fan top' saguaro lies just off the trail at the mouth of Ventana canyon. See comment below for more info on what causes this mutation.

The Mostrose growth is due to either frost or bacteria harm the apical meristem of the cactus. (In other words, the reproductive part is damaged)
