Shasta and the Bolam Glacier

Shasta and the Bolam Glacier

One of my favorite views of Mount Shasta, seen from the northwest as we headed to the Bolam Glacier. The Whitney-Bolam Ridge follows the right skyline. October 2012

Great conditions

Was this from the broad flat east of Bolam Creek and west of the North Gate plugs?

Re: Great conditions

That's right Bubba Suess. Somewhere between 8400 and 8600 feet, just a ways above Coquette Falls.

I'd never seen a view quite like this of Shasta before. Almost looked a bit like something in another country to me. Thanks for the comment!

Re: Great conditions

That is kind of what I figured. By the way, thanks for taking such good care of the place across the street. I appreciate it!

Re: Great conditions

Is Coquette Falls a long waterfall? It might be an interesting ice climb in the fall if it freezes...

Re: Great conditions

I'll send you a pic Vitaliy. As I remember it is long enough, but I'm not sure it has enough flow. It didn't have any in late October, but maybe mid-winter is a different story.
