Not my best I know...me at the ICU

Not my best look I know... Hairless, beardless...thin... But, fighting the good fight dudesssss!!!! Still here! \o/ That photo was taken in feb 9, 2013. I was inside the Intensive Care Unit (ICU) of the hospital with a damn bad reaction to the first round of chemo. An infection in the intestine. This type of reaction kills 95% of the leukemia patients. I survived against all odds!!!!! As happy as I can be. All the nurses, doctors, helpers, one by one they came to my room to congratulate me after a 20 days fight inside the ICU. Now, after 38 days admitted in the hospital, I am back home to a 3 week rest before my second round of chemo, which will be a little bit easier, and not with those kind of infections. As I said, fighting the good fight folks! For me, for my wife, for all my friends here in Brazil, for all of you who gave me the good vibes (don't think I didn't see, I saw each one, but with no internet access, couldn't answer...my bad). Seriously, thanks everyone. That image is from the past, a lot better now!!!!! :)

My dear friend Marc, it doesn't take courage to publish such photo, it cost me a great deal of courage to accept the real chance of dying on that ICU...

Yeah man, that was an ordeal, good word for it. Never felt so much pain in my entire life in such short period of time...
But this is on the past right now. Only good, best hopes for the short future.

Back from the depths!

All I can says is I know a little about how you felt when I was in the hospital with a bleeding ulcer in 2007. Laid up with blood transfusions etc. could hardly walk. But it was only for a couple days. I was back in the mountains a few months later.
Hope you're back in the mountains too my friend when the time comes!
