The upper section of the Silver Glacier. Pink line was our route. This variation is not in Beckey's guide. The route goes to the obvious notch, whereupon the completion to the summit is on the crest or in gullies on the back side (Class 3 and 4). This route avoids the steep upper lobe below the schrund. The dark-green line is what's described in Beckey. We saw some old tracks going that way. The exit onto rock then the rock itself looked problematic, not to mention the exposure (slide) into the gaping crevasse. The light-green line is a conjectured route on my part.
