this spanish summit sign it's called geodesic vertex (vértice geodésico), it's putting for the IGN (Instituto Geográfico Nacional= National Geographic Institute) for the use in measurement and works of position of areas and terrains (with devices). Generally the vertex is in the highest point of the zone and it's prohibited the destruction (with sanction). If you climb a mountain with vertex generally you can see a good view in many cases.
