Deertrap Mountain-- South Ridge and East Face
The ascent route goes up along the east side of the ridge's crest, not far below it but not on the crest itself. Yes, there is a (convoluted) scrambling way up that, though it is Class 4-5 on steep, rotten rock with a lot of exposure.
