Beginning P3 of Dappled Mare...
Beginning P3 of Dappled Mare - a 15ft traverse down and to the left from the belay, followed by a dihedral. This is the highlight of the climb (and the crux!). (March 13, 2005 - photo by S. Tschanz).

Thanks Natasha! It was a great trip - although I should have soaked up a bit more of that S. Ca sun - I didn't realize what was going to happen to the weather here in OR!

My class finally finished last week (yay) so hopefully I will be able to make it to PRG again sometime during the week! -Jim

Very good. I think everyone--including Haydar and Henry--are planning on going this Thursday. Hope to see you there.

The crux? The traverse probably checks in at 5.7. But I suppose the psychological factor makes it feel harder for some folks. I would venture to say that its up around the corner past the traverse that feels more like 5.8.
