Steve Larson is breaking trail on the way to Lone Pine Lake. Snow in this section was somewhat manageable. We weren't so lucky most of the time. It took us approximately 5.5 hours (!!!) to get from Whitney Portal to Lone Pine Lake on March 23, 2005
