About 100 yards from the summit of Humphreys peak, looking south to Fremont Peak (left) and Agassiz Peak (right). Blistering winds came in from the northwest at a constant of roughly 40 mph with steady bursts of roughly 60 mph (we had no way of measuring the wind, just experience from riding motorcycles, we had to walk and lean into the wind to keep from being pushed to the side). It was also very cold (at least for us), our watches read 18 degrees, giving us a wind chill of about -3 degrees. Just our luck, this wind persisted throughout our entire traverse to the summit of Agassiz Peak. March 21, 2005.
