Jim Lierman, Paul Kearby (his 2nd 14er!) and Ellen Ritt prepare to climb the final pitch of the Wetterhorn standard route. One descends the rock ramp onto the starting ledge, and then it's straight up! This is on the west side of the summit block. Experience with climbing and exposure is highly recommended. Summer, 2002.

Thanks for the review. The picture turned out much better than anticipated. The light and color surprised me. The more I visit Wetterhorn, the more I love that mountain!

It is straight up! Looks like you want sticky shoes for this one.

It's not as bad as it looks. The ledges are wide, there's plenty of holds and it's great fun to climb. Actually, it would be hard to protect. This is a classic climb in Colorado to be sure. Just stay off the mountain if it's coated in ice!
