Clear morning, bright skies, for half an hour. Then a darker shade of blue arrived and gale force winds started whip away the clouds which tried to assemble around the big peaks.
NOT a day you want to be high up on any of the "G's". I was on my way to C2 on Gasherbrum II/III, but turned back. Photo shot from 5800m, about an hour's walk away from C1.

It's such a small world. i have a very good friend in ankara, alkim. the members of the turkish team knew him very well and you also know some of the members. whom of them do you know? another funny thing was the first day i arrived in bc and passed the argentinian team. one of the guys said: "i saw you on pissis! you came down from the summit when we arrived". i met him two months earlier in argentina and he's the first i meet in bc, in pakistan. :-)

	Voted 10/10	Great:)) Climbing and mountaineering community is not so big in Turkey so I can say that I know all of them. But I met with Serhan and Bora before as well as Alkim. They may not know me with my name but I think they remember when if we meet again. Yes, this world is so small! There are a few more stories that I had before:)))

Beautiful shot! And I thought GIV looked good from Concordia!

I'll have to agree with you Corax, Pakistan is a gorgeous place and I look froward to heading back next summer.

	Hasn't voted	Thanks for the vote and nice words. It looks higher from Concordia, but the silouette of it from the basecamps of the Gasherbrum glacier are outstanding. Pakistan - a favorite! It just keeps on sucking me back.

Hasn't voted	As a purist in photography I would crop the picture: On a 6x7 1/2 copy I would cut 1/2 in. from the top and 1 1/4 in. from the bottom. This would improve the composition considerably. Congrats on good technic!

	Hasn't voted	Hi Gozdar! I agree to the full with what you're saying. I usually don't crop or alter the photos at all for summitpost.org. I don't have the time to do this. In this particular case, I did crop the photo a little bit, as I was standing in a bad spot and couldn't get the shot I wanted unless there was an ice ax in the picture. The ax I cropped out, but that was it. Thanks for the comment.

	Hasn't voted	Thanks a lot for the comments Maqsood! I do have some photos from Tirich Mir and I will post them later on when I'm back from South America. It's a wonderful area! I may actually go back there this summer. It's Tirich Mir or Disteghil Sar...or maybe back to the Baltoro area.
