Some teams ascending, some are going down towards Camp 1 (500 vertical meters down on the glacier), which is located just right of "The Tooth". This is one of the easier parts of the climb in between C 1 and C2. Only shorter sections with snow up to 70 degrees. Altitude: 6450m.

Yes, if there's one place to visit for mountaineers, it's probably the Baltoro area, or possibly east Tibet. Both great places. | | Posted Dec 29, 2006 10:25 am |

You have one of my favorite photos on SP.
The contrast between the color of the water and the doomy, wintery landscape is excellent. | | Posted Jan 19, 2007 5:47 pm |

Voted 10/10 | What a great shot! The colors and quality seems so great. I hope that your fingers were not freezing while taking pictures. I guess my problem is that I become too cold to take pictures at high altitude...(but I was only 6200 m high so far...). | | Posted Jun 28, 2009 8:10 am |

Hasn't voted | Thanks for the nice words. It's always tough to use the camera up high. Many times when cold, the result is either too many shots or none as you don't feel if you have pushed the button or not or how many times. | | Posted Jun 29, 2009 10:12 am |
