Zrmanja river waterfalls are falling over ever growing travertine carbonate rocks powered by sedimentation of calcium carbonate. Because of that they are full of holes and overhanging which enables you to swim through the water curtain behind the falling water and enjoy the show from different perspective or even explore sometimes big tunnel systems.

getting ready to leave for a longer stay in Hrvatska, was checking my list of "to do's".
and holy Moses, you not only impressed me again with fantastic pictures, but also teach me to find amazing spots and sceneries.
never heard of Zrmanja River, but with your info and my digital Adria Topo I get the picture.
