Soon, the summit will be very crowded
Memorial day congestion as climbers head up the hogback and skirt the bergscrund to the left. A cloud cap obscures the Pearly Gates and even more climbers. Click on this pic twice to get a larger format 5-24-03

Looks like the freeway of love on "Da Hood". Most of my family lives in Sandy. This mountain has provided us all with a lot of entertainment, but above Timberline is a ZOO!

Sandy is a neat area. I have a daughter who lives near Sherwood so I get to the Portland area fairly regularly and from time to time I take the drive up through Sandy and drive the backway to Hood River. Nice drive and great scenery.

I have never seen the hogsback that crowded. It also seems a bit dangerous to have that many on the mountain. Great shot Dean.

Mt. Hood is best avoided on holidays. Of course, the best time to climb Mt. Hood is around this time of the year.
