What an incredible majestic beauty. And how sharp and clear everything looks. It will be the new background pic for my pc monitor. Thanks for sharing

Thanks a lot JC. Glad you like it, and and appreciate your taking the time to comment. It was an awesome scene. I knew I had a good shot when I was taking it.

Good luck on your 14'er quest, man, that is a fantastic goal. Hey - you like a lot of the same bands that I still do! Now, that's cool!

This is the same camera as the Kangchenjunga photo, but now I had a slightly better quality 24-85mm lens. The film was Fuji Provia 100F. I used a tripod and polarizing filter, and bracketed the exposure. I carefully framed the shot to include some foreground rocks which help add to the photo's depth. Thanks again.

Jeff BarileA true tribute to nature.

At the risk of repeating nearly three years of previous comments, what a beautiful shot. Your crisp picture lets us appreciate nature's texture, from the ridges of rock and snow to the concentric arcs in foreground. Well done!

Thanks man! It was a magic moment, we had been huddled in our dining tent playing cards while a cold mist settled around the camp. Suddenly that broke and I could see warm light outside.

I stepped outside and my jaw dropped. I raced for my tripod and set it carefully up carefully include those foreground rocks (of which some are missing in this scan). I knew I had a winner here. By the way this shot of Baruntse was taken at the same time but shooting north instead of south.

Thanks again.
