This amazing view of Mt. Hood was enjoyed from a logged ridge near the road leading to the Indian Springs access to the PCT, south of Wahtum Lake, Thanksgiving Day 2002.

Hasn't voted | Thanks! I had never seen that phenomenon either. I've seen similar views, but not this effect. It seemed to be caused by being at the exactly correct elevation - the point of the inversion. It was definitely colder below that elevation, and warmer above.
