Voyage of the Virgin | [ Sizes: Orig | Large | Med | Small | Thumb ] |
This river is a work-a-holic! On a typical day, it carries 5,000 tons of rock fragments downriver; effectively creating Zion Canyon as we see it today! In the background is 5,790-foot high Angels Landing. (PLEASE CLIMB IT BEFORE IT TURNS TO SAND!)

Hasn't voted | tanya, when my wife & I were visiting WEEPING ROCK, we saw some climbers on Angels Landing.
Why is that one so POPULAR? Is it kind of
like PARIA CANYON & BUCKSKIN MOUNTAIN are
considered to be popular to canyoneers???
I like some of the more "OUT-OF-THE-WAY" places myself. How 'bout you? Take care. | | Posted Nov 29, 2007 7:57 pm |

Voted 10/10 | My hiking partner, Bo, is a climber and he was going to drag me up that one because I really wanted too... but that was years ago and I am getting far too old to [[learn]] to climb now, but he told me something like it's popular because it's so visible and in the main canyon in Zion. He like you likes more remote places.
I like both... different moods, different stuff, but I like most hikes and canyons. | | Posted Nov 29, 2007 10:39 pm |
| lcarreau | Please believe me ... | |
Hasn't voted | I understand MOODS. Did I hear you using that
three-letter word OLD again???

chopping wood? Yes, I'm a firm believer

Voted 10/10 | This is truly an amazing picture, especially the colors. I love the contrast of the river and plants on the plateaus! | | Posted Dec 22, 2007 4:43 pm |

Voted 10/10 | Every time I see a picture of this place it makes me want to get out there yet I never have. On the other hand, I guess that it's nice to still have wonders to behold for some future time. Nice picture! | | Posted Feb 12, 2008 12:03 am |

Hasn't voted | Yes, you should see my list of places to
go. If my list were a mountain, it would
be an impressive peak! Thanks for your
kind comments and contributions, Rob! | | Posted Feb 12, 2008 10:18 am |
