Another nice page. I'm glad you finally got around to adding this one to SP. I really enjoyed Watanga, in fact, I liked it little better than Hiamovi. That Watanga Lake area is a special place.
Nice description and pics of a very nice area--and a peak I've not heard of 'till now.
But...a question regarding this sentence: These summits are mostly of similiar character, that being gentle slopes on the western side that give way to thousand foot drops on the eastern side due to differential weathering. I'm not sure I understand what you mean by "differential weathering." Do you maybe mean "differential glaciation?" Just curious...
Yes you understood correctly. Differential glaciation in respect that snow accumulates on the eastern side (in areas of predminent western winds) of ridges carving out deeper and deeper depressions. I'll fix the sentence. Thanks for the correction!
Thank you very much for the vote Gangolf. Back in november I lost my job (my company moved to New Jersey of all places) and I haven't felt real motivated to do anything besides send out resumes and such. Anyway I am glad you enjoyed the page. Happy New Year brother!
Hey, I hope you'll get back on the track. I had a similar experience back in Jan 2004 which actually hooked me to SP. For a month I had nothing better to do than to surf and work for SP...
Excellent page for an excellent mountain. Great photos and your geological notes that I always enjoy. Thanks for posting! I notice that your maps and your text place Watanga Mtn. entirely inside IPW, but I thought that the revised park boundary put it on the border.
You do know that I depend on you to set my english straight don't you? :) Thanks as always for the vote. I will implement all corrections tomorow. Happy New Year brother!

I assume a route page is coming, so I'll check back. I was thinking that Watanga and Irving Hale would make a good trip this summer with my son.
