Alligator LizardThanks. Now I have the music from "America" running through my head, "alligator lizards in the air". ;-) Check out the tail. Someone caught that guy before.

Re: Skink?I think it is an alligator lizard. Skinks typically have a lot of blue on them.

Re: Skink?OK, OK, you guys made me look this up this critter. He is a San Francisco Alligator Lizard a subspecies of the Northern Alligator Lizard. Skinks are much more smooth scaled so they almost look shiny. Information from Peterson's Field Guide to Western Reptiles and Amphibians.
