Excellent ...I'm at an extreme disadvantage. Where is
Valais?????
I know it's pathetic, but if I haven't seen it on a "James Bond" movie, then I don't know
where it is located.

Valais in French, or Wallis in German, is one of the cantons (similar to state, such as AZ), of Switzerland. Valais is one of the cantons that makes part of the Swiss border with France and Italy. Valais includes such mountains as the Matterhorn (that is only about 15 miles away from this picture) as well as the largest massif in the Alps of Monta Rossa as well as part of the Mont Blanc Massif. The North side of the canton backs onto the Bernesse Oberland that includes the Eiger. The Weisshorn is the fourth highest peak in the Alps and this view is taken from the Val d'Anniviers.

but until now I had no idea they were so close together!
