West Ridge

of White Mountain Peak in winter was one of the hardest climbs I have done. Well, as you know it's not technically difficult, but I thought it was a grunt.
Great job on your page,
Marc

Re: West Ridge

Thanks! Yeah, the ridge was definitely one of the largest grunts I've done to date. Congrats on climbing White Mountain the 'proper' way rather than the jeep road :-D

Re: West Ridge

Well, a few years before the West Ridge I did the Jeep way with my dog late in the afternoon. By the time we got to the top it was too late to come back down without a flashlight. Yes, I know, I shouldn't have done a lot of things so many things dreadfully wrong. But, we, my dog and I ended up sleeping on top hugging each other and shivering all night. I had a fiber-fill jacket and my dog had her fur. Our half a bottle of water froze overnight despite my thinking that it felt cold only because it was windy. One of the most miserable bivys of my life. My poor dog stayed with me all night.
