When Bura wind is blowing...
When Bura wind is blowing such cloud usually sits on the Velebit. It is called Kapa (Cap) and spills very fast over the mountain like a huge waterfall. When reaches warmer air it just disappears. What happens is when air from the continent reaches the mountain ascends and cools down. Cold air can absorb less moisture so it condenses and creates such cloud. When air gets over the mountain it descends into warmer layers which can again absorb more moisture, so cloud disappear at the same altitude along whole mountain. Vlaski Grad (1375m) seen from the Mala Paklenica route, section Veliko Mocilo to Martinovo Mirilo. On Vlaski Grad pass, left of the peak, stands refuge. You can notice object just bellow the lowest point of the pass, a grey dot. April 13th 2003.
