When Bura wind (NE) blows on...

When Bura wind (NE) blows on Velebit massif cloud (cap) usually sits. It varies from small cloud on the very crest of the massif to large cap which swallows upper third of the massif (like here) to sometimes gigantic cap whose upper edge reaches altitudes of 5000-6000m. Such gigantic cap builds when Bura reaches hurricane force. Sometimes Bura can be so strong without a single cloud on the mountain but that happens rarely. This shot was taken from cathedral tower in Zadar city, some 50km away from Velebit, at sunset.
