White Fir

White Fir

One of my favorite trees in Mount Charleston, Nevada. You will find it along the South Loop trail. Photo taken in December 2007. The native range of White Fir extends from the mountain regions of the Pacific coast to central Colorado, and from central Oregon and southeastern Idaho to northern Mexico.

Re: Beautiful Fir !

Thank you :) Yes, I love how after the snow storm all the trees are covered with snow and this one is expecially beautiful.

Great one, Anya !

Wow, it's a beautiful Abies concolor!
Is there a developed ski area on the top
of Charleston? A beautiful tree on a lovely
mountain, taken by a wonderful photographer!!!
(Does it get any better?)

Re: Great one, Anya !

Thanks :) There are numerous white firs around the Spring Mountains, but I find this one the prettiest.
There is a resort on the slopes of Charleston (in Lee Canyon), but the ski lifts don't go even to the top of the rigdeline not to mention the top of the mountain.
Happy New Year!
