Came up PCT and started up White Mountain just north of Wolf Creek Lake. Enjoyed this more than expected - pretty much pick your own route up and the ridge traverse from the north summit to the south summit was easy. Just stick to winding through the sparse trees to avoid any talus or sand on the way up. Enjoyed the sandy descent on the west face back to the PCT - this would have been a nightmare ascent route but coming down took only a few minutes. Joel Ward and I hiked in to and camped at Wolf Creek Lake. Summited the next day and hiked out. The afternoon of the 27th was annoying as military aircraft were zooming all around and low. The summit was littered with empty shells left by the Marines.
