| Started at Cutler Flats but evidently took some wrong turns....Bicentennial Trail then to a dead end and after some backtracking was sure I found it. Only to have a "trail" peter in to obscurity pretty fast. Ran into some bow hunters that told me I could not get up from this basin, didn't stop me though I bushwaked for a couple miles and eventually came out on the ridge east of inspiration point....frustrating to know people drove up there. After an undulating ridge that added several hundred feet of elevation change I made it to Willard, not the first peak I was planning on going to. Took less than 4 hours the "direct way though. Ran over to Ben Lomond and down on what I thought was the Cutler Fork trail only to be dumped on a road next to a pavilion with a green shamrock on it, followed a bike path down to the river and figured this was an earlier part of the first wrong turn I had made. Still a foot path led downstream only to disappear also. Passed some voraciously destructive beavers and 2 bull moose before stumbling into Cutler Flats. Whole trip even with 1 mile added for wrong turns only took 7 hours and I made it a loop instead of there and back. There are definitely easier ways up this peak though. | |

| Going up the heinously constructed Ben Lomond trail was not an option for Willard, so we drove to Inspiration Point. It was great to see the mountain goats with great views all around. | |

| Managed to get my Maxima about 3 miles up the dirt road from Mantua, then biked up to Willard Basin. Stashed the bike in the trees and climbed Willard Peak, then over to Ben Lomond and back. Total distance just over 20 miles, took about 7.5 hours round trip. The bike ride down from the Basin was worth the effort to take it up earlier in the day. | |

| Went with the easy 4x4 dirt road up to Inspiration point (Willard Basin). Easy hike. Spent most of the time trying to get close ups of the mtn goats then at the top. Great weather. | |

| I was working up around willard peak, monitoring the goat habitat for the Utah Division of Wildlife Resources. So, after work I hiked to the top of Willard peak. It took hardly any time from where I was working to get to the top. I saw around a hundred goats that day. | |

| Hiked from the North Ogden Trailhead up to Ben Lomond Peak and over to Willard Peak in just under 8 hours. Quite a lovely day and saw a few goats and a badger. | |

| Drove up on Independence day to see the F-16 flying around for the parades. I made it to the top in time, heard the enigines roar but didn't see any sweet jets, maybe next year. Drove up to Willard Basin, really crappy road. | |

| This was the final UT COHP for me and my wife. It's a great peak that we could see from our bedroom window. A fitting end to a long adventure! | ||

| I car camped at the trailhead in Willard Basin and then climbed Willard Pk the next morning. I saw a nice group of mountain goats near the summit. | |

| Nice hike but I hated the road in from Mantua. Glad I did it on a weekday with very little traffic to deal with. If you drive the road to Willard Basin, you'll understand what I'm talking about. | |

| On a hot summer day, which we had, it was a long exercise in determination. Several snow fields made glissading on the return trip fun. Don't follow the obvious trail to the north and west of Willard Peak or you will add needless time and distance - we did! Instead angle northwest up the ridge line when it looks appropriate and route find to the broad lumpy top which doubles as a summit. Ben Lomond is much more picturesque than Willard. It took us 8+30 roundtrip. Was with my son, Kimball. | |

| This is an easy hike from Willard Basin. We didn't get to the real trailhead because there was still a lot of snow on the ground and the road was muddy. It was still a nice hike along the ridge to the top. | |

| I biked up from where the road starts getting rough from Mantua. It was hot, and a lot of Jeeps were on the road kicking up enough dust that I needed windshield wipers on my glasses. Nerd. A spring is at the turn in the road where it switches back to head up to Inspiration point: this is where I left the bike and hiked up the relatively short trail to Willard Peak. The crack on the summit is B I G. I accidentally went too far to the South and ended up acending the southern ridge, which was class 3 in spots and 4 in one sphincter puckering moment (definitely not the tourist trail here). It was exceedingly hot at the summit, so I spent little time there. The North ridge was a piece of cake to decend. I lost a bike tube on the way down because of a #@!ing 4" long wood screw puncture. Lame-ola. | |

| My nephew and I combined this with Ben Lomond in one long, hot day. About 20 miles that day. We came up from North Fork. | |

| Took an early Saturday morning to run to Willard and continue the jog over to Ben Lomond. These are easy and quick peaks to grab. Had an interesting conversation with a hitch hiker I picked up on I-15. Way to religious for me but had a great outlook on life. | |

| Climbed in 1998 via Skyline Trail with Ben Lomond...a marathon grind! Re-climbed via the much easier Willard Basin route thanks to a friend with a high-clearance vehicle. | |
