| Climbed on the way out from a backpacking trip to Horseshoe Basin, which was beautiful, but filled with hordes of mosquitos. | |

| Was actually headed to Horseshoe Basin and accidentally parked at the Windy Peak TH instead of the Iron Gate, so we decided to just go with it and tag Windy on our way in. Snow free on the way in, trail is hard to follow in places. Look for orange tape on a tree about 3 miles in where you need to cross the creek. On the way out July 23rd it snowed an inch or snow while we were on the mountain. | |

| Harder to navigate trail from Sunny Pass in snow, especially first quarter of a mile. Stay low, but not low enough that you will hit a marsh area. All in all, a great hike. I was a TA for Wendy Walker's Spring Block this year 2009 - awesome D_shorb! | |

| Went up the Windy Creek trail. The trail is overgrown in a few spots, but you can still tell where it should be from the sawed off trees for the trail. The burn area is a nice contrast of bright green brush/flowers and black trees. Beautiful day, sunny skies, no wind and warm at the top. | |

| True to its name, it was hard to stand up atop the peak. There were several large fires burning in the north Paseyten Wilderness. A great place to view Mt. Diablo and Mt. Robinson. At Silver lake we gorged on blueberries and made friends with the mosquitoes. | ||
