Cool and windy!  Sucess!

It was quite cool and windy, unusual for AZ. Nice scramble and nothing too bad if you stick to the big boulders. Pretty area and great 360 views from the top.

Woolsey  Sucess!

Another day, another P2000. Lots of talus and such. Decent hike.

North Side  Sucess!

Nice hike with a bit of route finding up the steep slope. Nice views of the nuclear power plant to the north.

Woolsey Way  Sucess!

This was my last AZ P2k below 4,000 ft. 6 peaks in one week. The primitive road along the fence is surrounded on both sides by wilderness so don't drive off of it. If you are facing Class 3 on the way up, you haven't found the easiest way.

Woolsey  Sucess!

Nice little peak with a bomb view of the surrounding area. Snow on the Four Peaks and Mazatzals, plus a running Gila River made for a unique vista. The route itself is very straight-forward and should give you no problems.

5th P2K in 5 days  Sucess!

Camped at the trailhead. Very steep route up and it felt like it was never going to end - the top didn't ever look like it was getting closer until I was standing on top of it. Pretty easy peak besides the steepness and all the prickly plants! Out of the 5 peaks I did, this peak has all the others beat for scrapes, scratches and blood.

Struck oil on Woolsey  Sucess!

This took a couple tries - on the first I holed
the oil pan, and limped back to Tucson leaving
a black trail in my wake. The second try was a charm
for Nick and I. Picked up some sort of Poison Ivy
like rash on my feet after the hike - Woolsey did
not go down easy. Saw Roach (Jennifer ?) entry in register.

Just kept climbing up...  Sucess!

...till there weren't no more climbing to do! Had a free day from work to drive out to this unique desert monolith. Wasn't too sure if I was on a 'correct' path, but the breaks in the cliffs always seemed to offer some route when things looked grim. The summit is gorgeous - a flattish garden of teddy-bear cholla. In all, the climbing was sustained low class 3, never too exposed. Had a few cactus run-ins, though. Par for the course. Trip Report, 12/5/2007
