| Straight up from Trail Camp on the way up Whitney with my wife. Bypassed the chimney on the left with some exposed cl.4 moves but it also bypassed the scree slope. Descended on west side and hopped back on the trail at about switchback 15. | |

| Started hiking just a bit beyond from the winter road closure (at ~ 6800' of elevation) at 7:00am. Dragging a$$ today---took me an hour to reach the regular Whitney Portal trailhead. Then, from Outpost Camp I just had to break trail. I went up the drainage next to Pinnacle Ridge from Mirror Lake. Finally ascended the NW ridge of Wotans Throne and was on the summit by ~ 1:30pm. Back at the car by 5:30pm. | |
