Wrong ledge!

We managed to get off route while crossing the Ebersbacher ledges on the way to Iceland Lake. This is NOT the right ledge as we discovered on the return! However, we still managed to cross safely. You are suppose to ascend past the boulder in the upper left corner of this photo to gain the Ebersbacher ledges, which are above this position. The evil Willows can be seen below. May 7, 2004.

off route blues!

I remember doing that exact section. It looks like you got on the ledges too early just like we did.

No one told us about any ledge till after we descended mountaineers for the first time. We went straight through the bushes. That sucked

The bushes are the worst part of that route, for sure. Even the short section below the ledges gave me fits. Next time I go, I'll bring a chain saw with me...
