Yellow Iris

[ Sizes: Orig | Med | Small | Thumb ]
Yellow Iris
June 2000-- I spotted this and a few others along Skyline Drive near camp for a trail maintainers' workshop I was attending. I have not seen this flower anywhere else and have always wondered if these were transplanted domestics. It most certainly is not the yellow bearded iris common to this section of the country.

I've come to think it was planted. Efforts to find a wild species like this online have been unsuccessful. The only wild yellow irises I have found look nothing like this. It makes me wonder if I should delete the picture since it probably isn't a true wildflower.
