[ Sizes: Orig | Med | Small | Thumb ]
Yellow Wagtail
Yellow Wagtail (Motacilla flava flava) is a small colorful bird with long tail from the family Motacillidae. It likes open country, especially wet meadows. Its wingspan is about 27 cm. The females look very much like males, but their colors are not as intense. Young are born in May and June and spend 15 days in a nest. Yellow Wagtails feed on insects which they catch in flight or on the ground. These birds are under protection in Poland.
